CLINICAL SUPPORT NURSE (CLINICAL TEACHER)

We are seeking Clinical Support Nurses (Clinical Teachers) to work in a full time or part time capacity based at any WWHS campus.

NUMBER OF POSITIONS:

• 1 x 1EFT/80hrs per fortnight full time position available.
• 1 x 0.4EFT/32hrs per fortnight part time position available.
• 1 x 0.6EFT/48hrs per fortnight part time fixed term position available (until 17 August 2027).

ABOUT THE ROLE

• The Clinical Support Nurse (Clinical Teacher) is responsible for developing a coordinated needs-based education program for the West Wimmera Health Service (WWHS) nursing division and other departments as required.
• They assist staff in maintaining contemporary knowledge and skills that will enable them to maintain high standards of care and enhance the patient outcomes.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential:

• Have effective communication and organisational skills.
• Registered with the Australia Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
• Relevant Clinical experience.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (recommended).
• Understanding of rural health issues relating to nursing.
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or working towards or a commitment to obtaining within 12 months).

Desirable:

• Postgraduate qualifications in nursing.
• Accredited BSL and ALS trainer and assessor.
• Previous experience as a nurse educator.

PRE-REQUISITES:

• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
• Working with Children Check.
• Fully vaccinated (including influenza) as per current Department of Health Directives.
• Australian Driver’s License.
