About us:

The Nursing Workforce Team provides strategic and operational support to the nursing and midwifery workforce across Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS). The team works closely with Nursing and Midwifery leaders to support workforce planning and business strategy development, ensuring services are aligned with clinical needs and the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Key functions include supporting the Business Planning Framework, coordinating nursing and midwifery recruitment activities, and assisting leaders to effectively utilise workforce and information systems to evaluate care delivery, inform workforce planning, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

About your role:

In this position you will.....

• Provides leadership and management to the Nursing and Midwifery Centralised recruitment team, including human resources management of the virtual relief pools.
\n
• Provide leadership for the clinical units around recruitment and retention of nursing and midwifery staff in line with organisational key performance indicators.
\n
• Demonstrate commitment to professional practice by ensuring self and relevant staff work within scope of practice, maintain professional standards of practice.
\n
