The Opportunity

We currently have a newly created opportunity open as the Head of Technology, AI and Systems, to set and lead Pedders technology, systems and digital enablement strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping the technology, systems, AI and digital capability that will support Pedders' next phase of growth.

You will lead the technology strategy and roadmap across Pedders' national company-owned and franchise network, balancing operational reliability and cyber resilience with innovation, digital transformation and emerging opportunities in AI and automation.

This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact, partnering closely with the Executive Leadership Team and business leaders to modernise our technology ecosystem, improve how our people and customers interact with our systems, unlock greater value from our data and identify practical ways technology can improve productivity and business performance.

Responsibilities include:

• Review technology architecture, system lifecycle and platform strategy, ensuring Pedders' technology ecosystem remains integrated, scalable, secure and fit for purpose


• Lead cyber security, risk management and business resilience, including security controls, disaster recovery, business continuity and compliance across the technology environment.


• Identify, evaluate and lead practical AI and automation opportunities, moving beyond experimentation to responsible adoption that delivers measurable improvements in productivity, decision-making, customer experience and business performance.


• Strengthen data governance, data quality, reporting and analytics capabilities to improve business visibility, decision-making and confidence in organisational information


• Oversee technology programs and projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget and timelines, with effective change management and user adoption.


• Ensure excellence in technology operations and service delivery, maintaining reliable, responsive and business-focused support, infrastructure and systems performance.


• Partner with executive and business leaders as a trusted technology advisor, providing strategic guidance on technology investments, risks, opportunities and priorities.


• Applying strong commercial judgement to technology investment, balancing business value, risk, cost, scalability and return on investment.

What You Bring To The Team

• Extensive senior technology leadership experience with responsibility for technology strategy, business systems, infrastructure, service delivery, cyber security, vendor management and continuous improvement.


• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams, fostering accountability, capability growth and strong delivery outcomes.


• Experience developing and executing technology roadmaps that support business growth, operational scalability, risk management and future capability requirements.


• Strong background managing enterprise systems, cloud platforms, infrastructure and digital transformation initiatives within complex, multi-site or customer-facing environments.


• Experience with AI, automation, data governance and analytics will be highly regarded.


• Strong understanding of cyber security governance, technology risk and resilience, with experience overseeing security, incident response, disaster recovery and business continuity in a complex technology environment.


• Strong commercial acumen, including budget management, supplier negotiations, contract oversight and technology investment prioritisation.


• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business recommendations for executive leaders.


• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Business Systems or a related discipline (or equivalent senior leadership experience)
