Key Duties

\n

    \n
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing delivery of Bank Australia's First Nations Recognition and Respect Strategy.
    • \n
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Traditional Owner Groups, First Nations organisations and community-led initiatives.
    • \n
  • Identify opportunities to advance First Nations economic empowerment through collaboration with the Impact Lending team.
    • \n
  • Work across the organisation to embed reconciliation principles into business practices, products, procurement, climate action, biodiversity initiatives and people strategies.
    • \n
  • Build organisational capability by providing expert advice, guidance and education on reconciliation and First Nations matters.
    • \n
  • Prepare strategic reports, updates and impact measures for the Executive Leadership Team and Board.
    • \n
  • Provide specialist advice on reconciliation-related communications, advocacy and customer engagement.
    • \n
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver meaningful reconciliation outcomes and strengthen community relationships.
    • \n
  • Support monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement of reconciliation initiatives and their impact across the organisation
    • \n

Key Skills and Capabilities

\n

    \n
  • Demonstrated experience leading reconciliation strategies, First Nations engagement or Indigenous affairs initiatives.
    • \n
  • Proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with Traditional Owner Groups, First Nations organisations and diverse stakeholders.
    • \n
  • Strong program and project management skills, with experience delivering complex initiatives across multiple business areas.
    • \n
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at Executive and Board level.
    • \n
  • Experience developing strategic advice, reports and performance measures to support organisational decision-making.
    • \n
  • A strong understanding of reconciliation, social impact and First Nations economic empowerment.
    • \n
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and embed reconciliation outcomes into organisational practices.
    • \n
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, ethical leadership and culturally safe ways of working.
    • \n
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social impact, humanities, business, sustainability or a related discipline, with 7-10 years' relevant experience.
    • \n
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • \n

\n

This is an hourly rate contract position for a 6-month fixed term. The rate is $95 per hour + super.
