Medical Receptionist

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our supportive team at South West Health Campus (SWHC). You will be the welcoming face and voice of Apex Radiology supporting patients referrers and clinical teams while delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and manage front-desk responsibilities in a professional and empathetic manner
• Answer telephone enquiries and respond efficiently and sensitively to patient needs
• Schedule patient appointments and determine examination requirements
• Communicate preparation instructions procedure costs and billing information clearly to patients
• Register patients manage paperwork and handle billing and EFTPOS transactions
• Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of reports
• Perform Medicare and Veterans Affairs claims batching
• Support other administrative tasks as directed by management

ABOUT YOU

• Familiarity with patient booking and entry systems preferred but not required (RIS experience highly regarded)
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology would be preferable but not required
• High level of professionalism empathy and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent time management multitasking and problem-solving abilities
• Accuracy in data entry and confident use of Microsoft Office and practice software
• Cash handling and EFTPOS experience
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Willingness to work across multiple sites if required
