About The Role

\n

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Printer / Press Operator to join our team in Melbourne, operating advanced 6 and 8 colour Heidelberg presses with Cutstar reel-fed units.

\n

This is a permanent full-time role offering a compressed 3-day work week (36 hours).

\n

\n
• Start on day shift during onboarding.
\n
• Transition to permanent night shift (Wed, Thu, Fri, 6pm-6am).
\n

\n

Your Duties

\n

\n
• Operate Heidelberg XL printing presses and die cutters.
\n
• Interpret job tickets and production requirements.
\n
• Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and production standards.
\n
• Perform colour checks and print quality inspections.
\n
• Complete changeovers efficiently with minimal downtime and waste.
\n
• Troubleshoot and resolve printing or mechanical issues.
\n
• Lead and support printer's assistants on press.
\n
• Work closely with prepress and finishing teams.
\n
• Capture production data and provide feedback.
\n
• Support continuous improvement and plant initiatives.
\n

About You

\n

\n
• Trade-qualified printer (or equivalent experience).
\n
• Proven experience operating multi-colour Heidelberg presses (Cutstar experience highly regarded).
\n
• Strong understanding of colour management and print quality standards.
\n
• Ability to read and use colour measurement devices.
\n
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook).
\n
• Mechanically minded with strong problem-solving skills.
\n
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
\n
• Team player with strong communication and organisational skills.
\n
