About the role:

• Matters spanning shareholder and governance disputes professional negligence contractual and earn-out disputes insolvency and restructuring misleading or deceptive conduct and equitable claims.
• Recent work has included urgent applications concerning confidential information security for costs appeals complex DOCAs payroll tax appeals and ongoing director and shareholder disputes.
• Manage matters from start to finish including drafting pleadings affidavits and evidence and contributing to overall case strategy.
• Regularly attend Court including directions hearings and subpoena returns.
• Brief and instruct counsel and deal directly with clients experts and other stakeholders.
• Work across matters in the NSW Courts and Federal Court.
• At the more senior level take greater responsibility for driving matters and supervising and mentoring junior lawyers

The ideal candidate:

• Commercial Litigation Lawyer with approximately 210 years PQE.
• Looking for a (x1) Solicitor/Associate and a (x1) Senior Associate
• A law degree from an accredited Australian or New Zealand university underpinned by strong academic records.
• Solid hands-on experience with Court processes and procedure particularly commercial litigation in the NSW Courts and Federal Court.
• Strong drafting skills across pleadings affidavits correspondence and advice.
• Experience attending directions hearings subpoena returns and other Court appearances.
• Strong understanding of evidence and commercial litigation principles.
• Comfortable dealing directly with clients and counsel and taking ownership appropriate to your level.
• Confident commercially minded and able to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
