Join our dedicated team at Westmead Hospital as a caseload Midwife on a 12 month temporary contract with the potential for permanency.

What you'll be doing

\n

In this rewarding caseload midwifery role, you will provide evidence-based, woman-centred care across the full maternity journey, including community and homebirth settings.

\n

Within this role you will:

\n

\n
• Manage a caseload delivering antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care.
\n
• Provide on-call support for labour and birth in hospital or at home.
\n
• Deliver education, health promotion and support to women and families.
\n
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community services.
\n
• Support culturally safe, high-quality care and continuous improvement initiatives.
\n

Essential Criteria

\n

\n
• Qualification: Midwifery
\n
• Registration: Current and valid registration as a Registered Midwife ( Division with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
\n

\n

Selection Criteria

\n

\n
• Current and valid registration as a Registered Midwife (Division with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
\n
• Demonstrated experience and clinical skills as a Midwife.
\n
• Commitment to developing advanced clinical skills and maintaining ongoing mandatory training.
\n
• Available to work flexible hours with availability to be on call.
\n
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of continuity of career/primary health care models of Midwifery care in addition to an explicit understanding of strengths-based philosophy.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a member of the multidisciplinary team with demonstrated effective teamwork and communication skills and demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
\n
• Current Driver's License valid in Australia and willing to use for work purposes.
\n
