Shutdown Mechanical Fitter - Mt Isa Power Station
- Power station experience is essential
- $80-90/hr based on experience
- 5 week contract starting late Sept
NW Mining & Civil are seeking experienced power station mechanical fitters to join our client’s team on a 5 week shutdown at a Mt Isa mine site.
Your day to day tasks will include the following, applicants must have proven experience in a similar role to be considered:
- Turbine and engine overhauls
- Pump and valve maintenance
- Auxiliary plant servicing
- Heat exchange overhauls
- Wear component replacement
The 5 week schedule will include 1 week of medical & inductions (all time paid) and 4 weeks on the planned shut working 12hr shifts. Flights, meals & accomm will be provided.
Pay rate is negotiable based on experience, in the range of $80-90/hr flat rate.
At times you will be required to wear a respirator while on site, so applicants must be willing to be clean shaven.

- Relevant fitting trade qualification
- Power station experience
- Current working at heights (within 2 years)
- Current confined space (within 2 years)
- High risk EWP and/or Forklift would be highly regarded
- Be willing to be clean shaven & wear a respirator
- Must be able to pass a pre employment medical and D&A testing
- Be able to complete all mine site online induction requirements
