Grade 1 Speech Pathologist | Full-time fixed-term | Until September 2028

About the Role

Monash Health Speech Pathology is offering this unique two-year rotating position, specifically reserved for an early career Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Speech Pathologist. This is an opportunity to join a progressive, supportive and highly skilled team where you can make a meaningful difference for people with communication and swallowing disabilities.

First established in 2018, this early career Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander position has provided a strong foundation for developing a broad range of clinical skills to support your career growth. The role includes rotation across Casey, Dandenong, Monash Medical Centre and Kingston Centre, with additional exposure to paediatrics, adult community services and outpatient clinics.

The position is flexible and can be tailored to your learning needs, career goals and wellbeing. You will be supported through clinical and cultural supervision, mentoring, and a range of professional development opportunities.

About Us

Speech Pathology at Monash Health covers the continuum and the life span. We have a large bed-based department across six hospital sites; Monash Medical Centre, the Victorian Heart Hospital, Kingston Centre, Dandenong, Moorabbin and Casey hospitals and teams of speech pathologists in community health, community rehabilitation, clinics and mental health programs.

About You

You’re an early career Speech Pathologist who is curious, motivated to learn and excited to build your confidence across a diverse range of clinical areas. You don’t need to know exactly where you want your career to take you yet – this role is designed to give you the experiences, support and exposure to help you discover that along the way. You’ll bring:

• A Bachelor or Master of Speech Pathology
• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity and be within three years of graduating as a Speech Pathologist
• Eligibility for practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia
• A willingness to learn, ask questions and embrace new experiences
• A reflective and flexible approach to your practice and professional development
• A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for being part of a supportive team
• A commitment to providing compassionate, person-centred care
• A valid Australian Driver Licence
