Director, Enterprise Architect

Job Description
Your Role
As a Director, Application Architecture, you are accountable for architecture strategy, solution governance and executive technology leadership across complex transformation portfolios. You partner with C-suite stakeholders, shape strategic technology direction, influence investment decisions and lead teams of architects delivering enterprise-scale platforms.
Your Impact

• Own architecture vision across multiple client accounts and transformation programs
• Act as trusted advisor to CIOs, CTOs and executive stakeholders
• Lead legacy modernisation and re-platforming, decomposing monoliths and defining pragmatic migration paths that minimize disruption to the business
• Drive architecture governance, quality standards and technical risk management
• Design distributed, cloud-native systems using microservices, event-driven and API-first patterns, applying domain-driven design to break complex domains into well-bounded services
• Shape multimillion-dollar pursuits, proposals and solution strategies
• Build and mentor high-performing architecture communities and leaders
• Guide AI, cloud, data and platform transformation initiatives
• Influence commercial outcomes through thought leadership and strategic consulting
  

Skills & Experience

• 15+ years in software engineering, architecture and technology leadership
• Proven experience leading enterprise architecture and large-scale transformation engagements
• Deep expertise in designing distributed systems, microservices and event-driven architecture, and integration patterns including REST, GraphQL, gRPC and streaming
• Proven success engaging executive stakeholders and influencing strategic decisions
• Deep expertise in cloud, distributed systems, integration and modern application architecture
• Proven consulting background with experience in client-facing leadership roles
• Experience managing architecture teams and developing future leaders
• Proven commercial acumen, estimation and business-case development experience
• Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills
  

Set Yourself Apart With

• Experience leading architecture on client-facing consulting or product engineering engagements.
• Background in domain-driven design, event storming and team topologies for large delivery organisations.
• Hands-on experience with AI and generative AI product patterns, including retrieval, orchestration and agentic workflows.
• Relevant cloud or architecture certifications, for example AWS or Google Professional Cloud Architect, or TOGAF.
• Exposure to regulated industries such as financial services, payments or health, and their compliance and data-residency considerations.
