Job description
Our client is seeking an experienced Intermediate Accountant to support month-end accounting, financial reporting and management reporting across its client portfolio.
This role combines hands-on accounting with client engagement and commercial finance support and offers a salary of $90,000–$100,000 + superannuation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing month-end accounting and preparing monthly management accounts
- Preparing profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports
- Completing reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
- Analysing financial performance and investigating variances
- Preparing financial statements and supporting working papers
- Supporting taxation and statutory compliance requirements
- Providing clients with clear and timely financial information
- Working closely with senior managers and directors
- Reviewing bookkeeping processes and improving financial reporting
What you’ll need:
- 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
- Strong month-end and management reporting experience
- Sound knowledge of financial accounting principles
- Experience preparing management accounts and financial statements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Xero, MYOB or similar accounting platforms
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- CA/CPA qualification or progress towards qualification is highly regarded
