Tax Consultant

Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Consultant to join its growing team based in Melbourne. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong taxation and accounting experience to work with a diverse range of clients and further develop their professional skills. The position offers a salary of $70,000–$80,000 + superannuation.

What you’ll be doing:

• Preparing individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns
• Preparing financial statements, BAS and IAS
• Assisting with GST, FBT and other tax compliance requirements
• Conducting tax research and assisting with tax advice
• Managing client files and maintaining supporting documentation
• Liaising with clients and assisting with ATO matters
• Working closely with senior accountants, managers and Directors

What you’ll need:

• 2–3 years of taxation or accounting experience, ideally within public practice
• Relevant qualification in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline
• Sound knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting principles
• Experience preparing tax returns and financial statements
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good communication and client management skills
• Experience with accounting and taxation software
• CA/CPA studies or an intention to undertake a professional qualification is advantageous
