Key Responsibilities

\n

• Lead and manage all day-to-day manufacturing operations.
\n
• Develop and oversee production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.
\n
• Manage Production Supervisors, sewing machinists, and production staff.
\n
• Monitor production KPIs, labour efficiency, quality, waste, and on-time delivery.
\n
• Ensure Sherrin's handcrafted footballs meet strict quality and workmanship standards.
\n
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, reduce costs, and minimise waste.
\n
• Manage staffing levels, recruitment, training, and performance reviews.
\n
• Coordinate with procurement, warehousing, sales, and logistics to ensure smooth production flow.
\n
• Oversee inventory levels, raw materials, and production planning.
\n
• Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), quality systems, and company policies.
\n
• Prepare production reports, forecasts, budgets, and operational metrics for senior management.
\n
• Identify process improvements and implement Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement initiatives.
\n

Key Skills & Experience

\n

\n
• Proven experience as a Production Manager within a manufacturing environment.
\n
• Strong leadership experience managing supervisors and large production teams.
\n
• Experience with production planning, scheduling, and resource management.
\n
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma principles.
\n
• Strong understanding of quality assurance systems.
\n
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Experience managing budgets, KPIs, and production reporting.
\n
• Proficient with ERP/MRP or production management systems.
\n
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining high quality standards.
