Role: Latin Teacher (0.6 FTE)
Start: Term 1, 2027 (or by negotiation)
Contract: Part-time (0.6) or Full time, Ongoing Position
Location: North-West Melbourne

About the role \n

A well-regarded independent school in Melbourne's north-west is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Latin teacher to join their team in a part-time (0.6 FTE) or Full time capacity. This opportunity suits a passionate educator who can deliver engaging, rigorous Latin lessons and foster a love of classical languages and cultures.

Key responsibilities \n

    \n
  • Plan and deliver high-quality Latin lessons aligned to the school's curriculum.
    • \n
  • Differentiate learning to support a range of abilities and learning needs.
    • \n
  • Use data to inform planning, assessment, and targeted feedback.
    • \n
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • \n
  • Maintain a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment in line with school policies.
    • \n
  • Contribute to wider faculty and co-curricular activities where appropriate.
    • \n

About you \n

    \n
  • Relevant teaching qualification and current VIT registration (or eligibility).
    • \n
  • Proven experience teaching Latin (or a strong classical languages background with capacity to teach Latin).
    • \n
  • Strong classroom practice and confidence teaching secondary students.
    • \n
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, professional approach.
    • \n
  • Commitment to child safety and the values/ethos of an independent school.
    • \n
