• 4 days per week, including one late shift per week (11.30am- 7.30pm)

• Above-Award remuneration: $61.37–$62.66 per hour + superannuation, and salary sacrifice available

About the roles

Gold Coast Centre Against Sexual Violence (GCCASV) is seeking two experienced mental health practitioners to join our specialist team:

• Specialist Mental Health Worker – Sexual Violence Program
  
• Specialist Mental Health Worker – Domestic Violence Program
  

These new roles will strengthen GCCASV's response to the intersection of violence, trauma and mental health.

Each position combines a small, targeted client caseload with specialist mental health assessment and counselling, responsive crisis and short-term support as needed, intake and service pathway support, advocacy and system navigation, mental health-focused group interventions, partnership development and organisational capacity building.

Working closely with the Counselling Manager and broader team, these roles provide an opportunity to contribute both directly to client wellbeing and to strengthening GCCASV's broader capacity to respond to mental health needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist mental health assessment, formulation, counselling and therapeutic intervention
  
• Maintain a small, targeted caseload of clients with additional mental health needs and/or other clinical considerations
  
• Provide responsive crisis and short-term mental health support as needed, including for clients contacting or presenting to the service
  
• Support intake, assessment, care planning and appropriate service pathways
  
• Support clients to navigate and access mental health and related services, including through referral, linkage and individual advocacy
  
• Develop relationships, partnerships and referral pathways with mental health and community services
  
• Support coordinated and wraparound responses where clients are engaging with multiple services
  
• Develop and deliver mental health-focused therapeutic and psychoeducational groups and workshops
  
• Contribute to mental health resources, organisational learning, practice development and broader capacity building
  
• Participate in relevant sector networks, communities of practice and service development activities
  

About you

You will be either a:

• Registered Psychologist with current AHPRA registration; or
  
• Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  

You will bring experience in mental health assessment, formulation and therapeutic intervention, including working with people experiencing significant mental health and psychosocial concerns.

For the Sexual Violence Program, you will bring demonstrated knowledge and understanding of sexual violence, trauma and their impacts on mental health.

For the Domestic Violence Program, you will bring demonstrated knowledge and understanding of domestic violence, coercive control, trauma and their impacts on mental health, including risk and safety considerations.

Across both roles, you will bring strong professional judgement, an ability to respond effectively to distress and complex presentations, and a collaborative, trauma-informed, violence-informed and victim-survivor-centred approach.

Experience within specialist sexual violence, domestic violence or violence against women services will be highly regarded.
