Description
Digga Australia specialise in the manufacturing of machinery attachments for the construction and earthmoving industry and have an exciting opportunity for a Fitter & Turner Apprentice within our Machine Shop. The right candidate will be a mechanically minded person who enjoys hands-on work, solving technical problems, and learning from experienced tradespeople while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. If you enjoy figuring out how things work, are motivated and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty then we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in on-the-job and onsite vocational training
- Learn precision machining techniques
- Use workshop tools, machinery and specialised equipment
- Prepare raw materials for processing
- Press (hand press) housings and other materials
- Build skills that will set you up for a long term career in engineering
What skills does it take to successfully complete a Fitter and Turner Apprenticeship?
- Sound maths skills and spatial awareness
- Solid hand-eye coordination
- Care and precision when taking measurements
- Excellent manual dexterity and the ability to precisely measure and cut
- Strong problem-solving skills
- An ability to follow directions
