About this role:

We specialise in Plumbing & Wastewater treatment systems so are looking for someone who can adapt to new technologies whilst maintaining quality workmanship in the traditional setting of maintenance plumbing.

If you have started or are well into your plumbing career, you will be given opportunities to upskill & take on more responsibilities. If your more experienced, you will find plenty of challenges to keep you engaged & can mentor younger Plumbers.

As a maintenance plumber with Wigg Plumbing, you will firstly be responsible for your workmanship and attention to detail. Wigg Plumbing is renowned for quality and reliability, and you will be required to uphold that reputation.

Role: Maintenance Plumber

Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Install, repair, and maintain water, drainage, and gas piping systems in residential and/or commercial properties
2. Diagnose plumbing issues (leaks, blockages, pressure problems) and determine appropriate repairs
3. Read and interpret blueprints, building codes, and specifications
4. Fit and connect pipes, fixtures, and appliances (toilets, hot water systems, taps, etc.)
5. Perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent future issues
6. Respond to emergency callouts (burst pipes, blocked drains, gas leaks)
7. Ensure all work complies with relevant plumbing codes, safety standards, and regulations
8. Test systems for leaks and proper function after installation or repair
9. Maintain accurate job records, quotes, and invoices
10. Communicate clearly with clients about work needed, timelines, and costs
11. Keep vehicle and tools stocked, maintained, and organised
12. Liaise with other trades on larger jobs (builders, electricians, etc.)
13. Mentor apprentices, if applicable

Requirements:

1. Recognised plumbing qualification/trade certification
2. White Card
3. Manual Drivers Licence
4. Working with children’s card
5. Gasfitters Licence (optional)
6. Confined Space Licence

Location: Berrimah, Northern Territory

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: AUD $88,000-$115,000 per year
