About the Team:

Our Melbourne Building Services team is a well-established, collaborative group within WSP’s national Property and Buildings business. About The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide expertise in electrical design for both single and multi-disciplinary projects. You’ll lead small to medium-sized design packages within larger, complex programmes, ensuring best practice delivery while managing costs and timelines. You will also build strong client relationships and play a key role in developing our Building Services team, contributing to broader strategic goals and the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide electrical design leadership on both single and multi-disciplinary projects across a range of sectors
• Lead small to medium-sized engineering design projects and support larger, more complex projects to ensure effective and efficient delivery.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with external clients and authorities, as well as internal colleagues and managers, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
• Deliver best practices to achieve optimal outcomes for clients, focusing on saving time and reducing costs without compromising on quality.
• Build solid, long-term relationships with clients, identifying new business development opportunities and understanding their evolving needs.
• Contribute to the development and growth of the business unit by supporting strategic goals and initiatives aimed at enhancing overall success.
  

Key Requirements

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering;
• 7–10+ years of industry experience delivering Australian building services projects, preferably within a consulting environment;
• Demonstrated experience successfully managing and delivering multiple concurrent projects across a range of scales and sectors;
• Strong client relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills;
• Sound working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and Codes, including AS/NZS 3000, NCC, and associated building services standards;
• Excellent technical design, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities across electrical building services systems;
• Eligible for, or currently registered on, the National Engineering Register (NER) and/or working towards Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and authorities.
