We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Compliance team asLine 2 Compliance Manager at KPMG. This role is a key part of embedding ourThree Lines of Defence model and will support the design, implementation, and ongoing oversight of KPMG’s compliance framework, with a particular focus onend to end compliance frameworks, Anti-Money Laundering/ Counter Terrorism Finance (AML/CTF) requirements, Australian Financial Services Licensing (AFSL) obligations, and broader regulatory compliance matters .

At KPMG, the Three Lines of Defence model is designed to ensure clear accountability for risk management. The business (Line 1) owns and manages risk and its direct compliance obligations, the Risk and Compliance functions (Line 2) provide independent oversight, guidance, and constructive challenge, and Internal Audit (Line 3) independently assesses the effectiveness of controls.

This is a hands‑on role that provides the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders across the firm, and to play a key role in shaping compliance practices through advisory, oversight, monitoring and training initiatives.

You will enjoy translating regulatory complexity into clear, practical guidance and supporting the business to embed effective, fit‑for‑purpose controls. Leveraging your strong interpersonal and technical skills, you will work within a highly specialised compliance team and act as a trusted Subject Matter Expert, while reinforcing the independence, credibility, and effectiveness of the Line 2 function.

• Provide second lineoversight and constructive challenge across business activities to assess compliance with regulatory obligations.
\n
• Support theimplementation and continuous enhancement of the compliance framework, policies, controls, and procedures.
\n
• Providing guidance and support to Line 1 teams on complex KYC, customer due diligence (CDD), and client onboarding matters .
\n
• Review and challenge client risk assessments, CDD outcomes, and onboarding decisions to ensure compliance with applicable AML/CTF obligations
\n
• Monitor adherence toAFSL obligations and provide guidance to the business on regulatory requirements, licences conditions.
\n
• Provide Line 2 oversight ofAML/CTF obligations , including risk assessments, control design and testing, and regulatory reporting requirements.
\n
• Advise and support Line 1 teams to uplift AFSL and AML/CTF capability and control effectiveness, while maintaining appropriate Line 2 independence.
\n
• Overseecompliance monitoring, assurance activities, breach and incident management and emerging regulatory issues including escalation where required.
\n
• Conductcompliance reviews and thematic assessments across regulatory risk areas.
\n
• Delivercompliance advice, guidance, and training to support awareness and understanding of regulatory obligations.
\n
• Support engagement withASIC, AUSTRAC, AFCA and other regulators , including regulatory enquiries, reviews, and submissions.
\n
• Build strong relationships withLine 1 and Divisional Risk and other teams to uplift obligations awareness and collaboration.

Qualifications \n

\n
• Previous experience in a compliance or risk role within financial services.
\n
• Strong understanding of financial crime risk, including AML/CTF obligations.
\n
• Demonstrated knowledge of interpreting corporate legal structures and complex ownership arrangements to meet AML.CTF obligations
\n
• Practical experience and solid knowledge of the Corporations Act and relevant ASIC Regulatory Guides.
\n
• Working knowledge of AFSL regulatory requirements and ASIC expectations.
\n
• Experience with ASIC, AUSTRAC, and AFCA reporting and submissions.
\n
• Experience in second line (Line 2) compliance or risk functions,
\n
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical, business‑aligned controls and guidance.
\n
• Experience in compliance monitoring, assurance, and risk assessments.
\n
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and engage confidently at Board level.
\n
• Experience designing and delivering compliance or regulatory training.
\n
• Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a proactive, adaptable mindset in a complex regulatory environment.
\n
• Relevant qualifications in law, finance, risk, or a related discipline.
\n
