About the Role

\n

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced healthcare leader to join St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne as the HIP ARC Manager on a six-month, full-time fixed-term basis. In this senior leadership role, you will lead a dynamic portfolio of integrated healthcare services focused on improving patient outcomes across hospital and community settings. You will provide strategic and operational leadership to multidisciplinary teams across our Fitzroy, Kew and Fairfield sites, driving clinical excellence, service development and continuous improvement. Working collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders, you will support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while strengthening integrated models of care across the Health Independence Program (HIP).

• Leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams across Fitzroy, Kew and Fairfield

Your Contribution

\n

You are an experienced and influential healthcare leader with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through a complex and evolving healthcare environment. You will bring:

\n

\n
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Allied Health or Nursing, with current AHPRA registration where applicable
\n
• Postgraduate qualifications and/or demonstrated specialist expertise in a relevant field
\n
• Demonstrated leadership experience within acute, subacute, rehabilitation and/or community healthcare settings
\n
• Proven experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams
\n
• Strong knowledge of integrated models of care, clinical governance, quality improvement and contemporary rehabilitation service delivery
\n
• Demonstrated experience in change management, service development and continuous improvement
\n
• Strong workforce management and performance leadership capabilities
\n
• Experience managing budgets, resources and operational priorities
\n
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
\n
• The ability to provide strategic direction while effectively managing day-to-day operational requirements
\n
• A current [National Criminal History Check / NDIS Worker Screening Check], or willingness to obtain one

About the Health Independence Program (HIP)

\n

The Health Independence Program (HIP) delivers integrated and coordinated care across hospital and community settings to improve client outcomes, support hospital flow and provide seamless, person-centred care. HIP brings together multidisciplinary services to support people with complex healthcare needs, with a strong focus on improving independence, reducing avoidable hospital presentations and ensuring effective transitions between hospital and community-based care. This leadership position oversees teams across all three HIP sites – Fitzroy, Kew and Fairfield – and requires a regular presence at each location. Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Provide leadership and management to multidisciplinary teams across HIP services
\n
• Oversee the delivery of effective and responsive rehabilitation and specialist clinic services
\n
• Manage services including HIP Central Triage, rehabilitation and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, Continence, CDAMS, Geriatric Medicine Clinic and Falls and Balance Clinics
\n
• Provide clinical governance and oversight of clinical risk, quality, client outcomes and service effectiveness
\n
• Provide leadership, professional support and direction to Team Leaders
\n
• Lead workforce management activities including recruitment, performance development, leave planning and staff compliance requirements
\n
• Manage operational budgets, monitor financial performance and support achievement of budget targets
\n
• Identify and implement service improvements, efficiencies and innovations
\n
• Lead and contribute to quality improvement, research and service evaluation activities
\n
• Monitor activity targets and clinical and non-clinical performance measures
\n
• Support staff education, professional development and clinical supervision
\n
• Manage escalated complaints and complex clinical matters
\n
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, community partners and local healthcare providers
\n
• Support effective resource allocation and coordination across sites and services.

About You

\n

\n
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Allied Health or Nursing that meets relevant AHPRA registration requirements
\n
• A relevant postgraduate qualification
\n
• Current AHPRA registration, where applicable
\n
• Professional association membership or eligibility
\n
• Demonstrated knowledge of Health Independence Program principles of care
\n
• Advanced knowledge of contemporary rehabilitation and therapy service delivery
\n
• Knowledge of acute, subacute and community healthcare sectors
\n
• Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary teams
\n
• Strong leadership and clinical decision-making capabilities
\n
• Highly developed communication, interpersonal, organisational and negotiation skills
\n
• Experience in performance management, complex conflict resolution and change management
\n
• Experience in budget planning and management
\n
• Demonstrated ability to improve clinical outcomes through evidence-based change and service improvement
\n
• Experience in service delivery across multiple sites, including working towards and achieving performance targets
\n
• Knowledge of continuous quality improvement, relevant clinical standards and industrial agreements
\n
• An understanding of relevant government policy and health reform initiatives.
