About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Trainer & Assessor to join our team in Hobart, Tasmania.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified VET professional with current industry experience in Aged Care, Individual Support, Community Services and/or Early Childhood Education & Care who is passionate about supporting learners to achieve their career goals.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging, practical and compliant training and assessment to students in a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality training and assessment in accordance with the relevant training package and RTO policies.
• Facilitate engaging classroom, workplace and/or blended learning.
• Assess students fairly, consistently and in accordance with assessment requirements.
• Provide constructive feedback and learner support.
• Maintain accurate training and assessment records.
• Participate in validation and continuous improvement activities.
• Liaise with employers, students and workplace supervisors where required.
• Ensure training and assessment activities comply with relevant regulatory and quality requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116, TAE40110 or equivalent/approved successor), or an appropriate higher-level VET/adult education qualification.
• Current and relevant industry experience and vocational competency in at least one of the following areas: Aged Care / Individual Support / Community Services, and/or Early Childhood Education & Care.
• Sound understanding of competency-based training and assessment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People (RWVP) registration, where applicable.
• Current driver’s licence.

Desirable

• Experience delivering CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support.
• Experience delivering CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and/or CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
• Experience working within an RTO environment.
• Knowledge of the Standards for RTOs 2025 and current VET compliance requirements.
• Previous experience supporting learners from diverse backgrounds.
