Job Description
\n
Performance Tester | AWS + Gatling | Melbourne
\n
I’m currently recruiting for an exciting Performance Engineer opportunity with a high-volume digital organisation in Melbourne.
\n
This is a great opportunity for a performance engineer who enjoys going beyond simply running tests — getting into how systems behave under load, identifying bottlenecks, improving scalability and helping engineering teams build highly resilient platforms.
What you’ll be doing \n
- \n
- Design and execute performance and load testing strategies \n
- Develop and maintain performance test scripts and tooling \n
- Analyse system behaviour across applications, APIs, data and infrastructure \n
- Identify performance issues, bottlenecks and scalability risks \n
- Work closely with engineering, delivery and operational teams \n
- Contribute to capacity planning and usage modelling \n
- Support the development of highly scalable, resilient and recoverable systems \n
- Help develop performance engineering capability across the wider technology organisation \n
- Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines \n
What we're looking for Essential: \n
- \n
- Strong commercial experience in Performance Engineering / Performance Testing \n
- Hands-on experience with Gatling \n
- Strong experience working with AWS / public cloud \n
- Experience developing quality code and working with software development practices \n
- CI/CD experience, ideally with Jenkins and/or GitHub \n
- Strong Git experience \n
- Good understanding of *nix/Linux environments \n
- Ability to deep-dive into technical issues and drive resolution \n
- 4+ years' experience in performance engineering \n
Nice to have: \n
- \n
- Python \n
- AWS CloudFormation \n
- JMeter or other performance testing tools \n
- SQL \n
- Log analysis / monitoring tools \n
- Test automation frameworks \n
Why consider it? \n
This isn't a traditional QA role. You'll have the opportunity to work across the full technology stack, influence how systems are designed for scale, and play a key role in ensuring platforms can handle significant and unpredictable volumes.
