Job description

Support enterprise bargaining, HR and project initiatives within a high-impact national organisation.

Our client is a national organisation delivering important services and programs that make a meaningful difference to people and communities across Australia.

The organisation is committed to building a capable, engaged and sustainable workforce and is currently undertaking an important period of workplace bargaining.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team and contribute to a significant people and workplace relations project.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR or workplace relations professional to play a key role in a significant enterprise bargaining process, while also contributing to broader workplace relations priorities across the People Branch.

Working with broad direction, you will coordinate bargaining activities from end to end, ensuring meetings, documentation, consultation, actions and project milestones are managed effectively.

You will work closely with senior leaders, employees, bargaining representatives and union officials, providing the structure and coordination needed to keep this important process moving.

You will also contribute to policy reviews, workplace relations advice, risk identification and capability uplift, giving you broad exposure across HR and workplace relations.

For someone looking to build their experience in enterprise bargaining and workforce change, this role provides the opportunity to work on a significant organisational initiative while partnering with a range of stakeholders across the business.

The Role

You will bring structure, sound judgement and strong coordination skills to a complex and important workforce program.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating the day-to-day delivery of enterprise bargaining activities, including meetings, schedules, papers, actions and project milestones
  • Preparing high-quality briefing materials, clause comparisons, executive updates and employee communications
  • Maintaining accurate bargaining records, clause registers, consultation logs and other critical documentation
  • Supporting constructive and culturally appropriate engagement with employees, managers, bargaining representatives and unions
  • Providing practical advice on workplace relations matters, including relevant Commonwealth legislation and employment frameworks
  • Identifying workplace relations risks and escalate complex matters where appropriate
  • Supporting broader workplace relations priorities, including policy reviews, guidance materials and manager capability
  • Assisting with organisational readiness for implementation of a new enterprise agreement
  • Providing support across wider workplace relations priorities as required

The Ideal Person

You will be an experienced HR or workplace relations professional who is highly organised, commercially minded and comfortable managing competing priorities in a complex environment.

You will ideally have APS or comparable experience, with exposure to enterprise bargaining, workplace relations or significant workforce change.

You will communicate clearly and confidently, be comfortable handling sensitive information and demonstrate sound judgement, discretion and integrity.

Experience working with First Nations employees and stakeholders, or an understanding of culturally appropriate engagement, will be highly regarded.

You will have at least three years’ HR experience and an understanding of, or the ability to quickly develop knowledge of, Commonwealth workplace relations frameworks and the Fair Work Act 2009.

Relevant qualifications and experience supporting enterprise agreement negotiations will be advantageous.
