About Us
Muglan Restaurant is a vibrant and welcoming dining destination, specialising in authentic Nepalese and Indian cuisine. We are committed to delivering delicious, high-quality food, warm hospitality, and memorable dining experiences to our customers. As our restaurant continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join our dedicated kitchen team and help us maintain our high standards of food quality and service.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and present a diverse range of authentic Nepalese and Indian dishes with consistency, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Ensure all meals are prepared and presented to a consistently high standard during busy service periods.
• Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and the introduction of new dishes and daily specials.
• Maintain excellent standards of taste, portion control, food presentation, and consistency.
• Prepare traditional curries, tandoori dishes, naan, momos, and other Nepalese and Indian specialties.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
• Train, mentor, and support junior kitchen staff to maintain strong kitchen standards and teamwork.
• Monitor food stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise food waste through effective preparation and storage.
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness requirements at all times.
• Maintain an organised, clean, and efficient kitchen environment.
• Assist with catering, functions, and special events when required.
Qualifications and Experience
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Chef in a busy commercial kitchen environment.
• Strong experience and knowledge of Nepalese and Indian cuisine will be highly regarded.
• Excellent knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
• A genuine passion for cooking, hospitality, and delivering exceptional food experiences.
