Job Description

Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort is currently seeking proactive and reliable Handypersons to join our team in both Full-Time and Casual positions. These roles are essential in ensuring our resort remains well-presented, safe, and welcoming for both guests and team members.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys creating a safe, well-maintained environment for guests and colleagues alike. As part of our team, you'll be the go-to person for repairs and maintenance, working across guest rooms, public areas, resort facilities, and back-of-house areas to ensure everything operates at its best.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and resort facilities
• Complete painting, patching, and minor refurbishment works as required
• Oversee and support external contractors when required
• Implement and maintain the property's preventative maintenance program
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and operational issues
• Keep accurate records of daily tasks, maintenance requests, and service schedules
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company policies and procedures

Position Details:

• Full-Time and Casual opportunities available
• Flexible roster across seven days, including weekends and public holidays
• Additional hours may be available based on operational requirements

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):

Monday - Friday: $26.44 per hour
Saturday: $33.05 per hour
Sunday: $39.66 per hour

Qualifications

Successful applicants will have:

• Previous hands-on experience in building, facilities, or property maintenance (12 months preferred but not essential)
• Previous painting experience highly regarded
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• A genuine commitment to delivering high standards of service
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
• Trade qualifications or relevant licences will be highly regarded but are not essential
