Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician Apprentice

Mount Isa Region | Full-Time Permanent Opportunity

Looking to build a rewarding career close to home? APA Group is offering an exciting opportunity for someone from the local Mount Isa region to join our team as an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician Apprentice.

\n

This 4-6 -year apprenticeship combines hands-on experience with formal training, giving you the opportunity to learn from experienced tradespeople while working on critical energy infrastructure that helps power communities across Australia.

\n

This is not your typical trade role. We'll help you obtain your trade certificate, but you'll be working towards becoming a highly skilled APA Technician.

\n

What you'll gain

As an APA Apprentice, you'll work towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, and Instrumentation , setting you up with valuable skills and a long-term career pathway in the energy industry.

What you'll be doing

\n

Working alongside skilled technicians, you'll gain experience across a variety of electrical, instrumentation and maintenance activities, including:

\n

\n
• Assisting with planned and reactive maintenance, inspections and repairs across the region
\n
• Learning to service, maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of equipment
\n
• Supporting electrical and instrumentation work under the guidance of qualified team members
\n
• Monitoring the performance and operation of critical assets through routine inspections
\n
• Assisting with equipment upgrades, replacements and improvement projects
\n
• Maintaining easements and site facilities to a high standard
\n
• Attending TAFE and successfully completing apprenticeship coursework
\n
• Contributing to preventative and corrective maintenance activities
\n
• Supporting job preparation, including organising tools, parts and operational documentation
\n
• Assisting with the review and improvement of operational procedures and documentation
\n
• Working safely and helping protect your teammates, the community and the environment
