Employment Type: Permanent Full Time or Part Time, 24-38 hours per week . Temporary roles are available to visa holders, with contracts issued in accordance with visa conditions. Visa holders will be considered where no suitable Australian citizen or permanent resident is identified.

Remuneration: $41,22 - $57.88 per hour+ 12% Superannuation + Salary Packaging

Achieve Something Great

Working within the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) program at Liverpool Hospital, you will deliver true continuity of care to women across pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period. As part of this established and highly regarded model, you will be allocated an annual caseload of women and supported by a dedicated team of midwifery colleagues, providing 24-hour care within a structured on-call roster.

This autonomous and professionally rewarding role enables you to manage your own workload and time while building meaningful, beneficial relationships with the women in your care. You will lead and coordinate comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal midwifery services, undertaking assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care. Your practice will promote collaborative, equitable and woman-centred care, empowering women to achieve their individual pregnancy and birth goals.

Focused on each woman’s unique needs, expectations, and aspirations, you will practice at an advanced midwifery level to deliver exceptional clinical outcomes for women and their families. You will be supported within a dynamic tertiary environment by a Clinical Midwife Consultant and the Midwifery Unit Manager –Models of Care, and benefit from strong collaboration across South Western Sydney Local Health District. Early career midwives are supported.

You are a passionate and experienced Registered Midwife who is committed to providing continuity of care and building meaningful relationships with women and families throughout their maternity journey. • Demonstrated clinical experience as a Registered Midwife, with well-developed skills across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care.
• Strong commitment to the Midwifery Group Practice philosophy and the delivery of continuity of care.
• Ability to work confidently both autonomously and collaboratively with midwifery and multidisciplinary teams while maintaining professional and ethical boundaries.
• Excellent communication and active listening skills, with the ability to build trusting, respectful and culturally responsive relationships with women and their families.
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail in clinical documentation, care planning and follow-through.
• Adaptable, resilient and able to effectively prioritise competing demands within a dynamic and evolving clinical environment.
• Committed to reflective practice, ongoing professional development, team meeting engagement and the delivery of evidence-based care.
• Passionate about advocating for woman-centred, equitable and trauma-informed care.
• Available and willing to participate in an on-call roster providing coverage across the full continuum of care, including pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period.

Selection Criteria

To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

• Do you have current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)?
• Teamwork is a vital component of working within an MGP. Describe what steps you would take to influence positive teamwork culture.
• Provision of care within a continuity of care model is often dynamic, unpredictable and includes a variety of presentations and clinical acuity. Describe examples and methods of managing competing priorities including when things are not going to plan.

Do you have a current Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2) with a willingness to travel in the course of employment? if you hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
