About The Role

\n

Due to continued growth and increasing demand for building compliance and regulatory services, we are seeking a Building Surveyor's Assistant to join our Building Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting statutory building functions while contributing to a collaborative, customer-focused and professional work environment.

\n

The primary objectives of the role are to provide technical advice and assistance to the customers and provide administrative assistance to the Building Services area to enable the team to achieve its legislative responsibilities whilst gaining experience in the Building Surveying field.

\n

About You

\n

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical knowledge of the Building Act, Building Regulations, National Construction Code and associated legislation and standards, together with experience in building compliance, inspections and regulatory administration. You will have the ability to assess building applications, undertake inspections and audits, prepare technical reports and correspondence, and provide practical advice to a broad range of stakeholders, including builders, developers, consultants, residents and internal customers.

You are a proactive and customer-focused professional with excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. You demonstrate sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. You are also committed to continuous improvement and supporting the development of less experienced team members through mentoring and leadership. Participation in an after-hours emergency and on-call roster may be required as part of this role.

You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.

The successful candidate will be asked to produce a clear Working with Children Check and will be asked to consent to a national police check (and where relevant an 'international criminal history check'), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
