The services include Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Special Care Nursery (SCN), and outpatient paediatric follow‐up programs.The NICU is a 58‐bed unit (NICU/SCN combined) with more than 1,400 admissions annually, providing high‐level perinatal and neonatal care for infants born as early as 22 weeks’ gestation. The unit is recognised for excellence in clinical care, academic research, and education. It offers accredited training programs in basic and advanced paediatrics/neonatal medicine, neonatal nursing, and medical student teaching, supporting the development of the next generation of neonatal clinicians.It is an exciting opportunity to join a highly supportive and collaborative team of specialist neonatologist, and clinicians contributing towards care of sick infants across the state.**Purpose of the role*** Deliver high‐quality, safe, and family‐centred clinical care to unwell newborns across the neonatal intensive care unit, special care nursery, and postnatal wards, functioning as a clinical leader within these settings.* Contribute to the unit’s academic and educational activities, including supervision and mentoring of medical students and junior trainees, fostering a supportive environment that promotes career development and prioritises staff wellbeing.* Participate in ambulatory and outpatient services, including the long‐term follow‐up of high‐risk infants.* Engage fully in clinical governance, quality improvement and research activities, leading designated initiatives as assigned by the Clinical Director.* Contribute as a member of a multidisciplinary team, providing a highly responsive and flexible service to support the needs of babies and their families.**What you’ll bring**You’re resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart.
