Stromlo Leisure Centre is seeking enthusiastic, reliable and engaging Swim Teachers to join our growing team across both our Learn to Swim Program and School Swimming Program.

As a Swim Teacher, you'll play an important role in helping people of all ages and abilities develop confidence, build lifelong aquatic skills, and become safer in and around water.

Whether you're an experienced instructor, newly qualified, or looking to re-enter the workforce, we'd love to hear from you.

Opportunities Available

Learn to Swim Program

• Afternoon, evening and weekend shifts available
• Teach swimmers of varying ages and abilities
• Help students progress through their swimming journey

School Swimming Program

• Weekday shifts available between 9:00am and 3:00pm
• Ideal for parents returning to the workforce
• Great opportunity for education students, semi-retired professionals, or anyone seeking family-friendly working hours
• Work with local schools to deliver structured swimming and water safety programs

About the Role

As a Swim Teacher, you'll deliver engaging swimming and water safety lessons to students of varying ages and abilities.

You'll be responsible for:

• Teaching swimming and water safety skills
• Building confidence in and around the water
• Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
• Supporting student development and progression
• Celebrating student achievements and milestones
• Providing exceptional customer service to families
• Working collaboratively within a passionate aquatic team

No two lessons are the same, and every day you'll help people of all ages and abilities build confidence, achieve their goals, and become safer in and around water.

About You

We're looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about teaching and making a positive impact in their community.

• Enjoy working with people of all ages and abilities
• Bring energy, positivity and confidence to every lesson
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Are reliable, professional and organised
• Can adapt their teaching style to meet individual needs
• Work well both independently and as part of a team

Previous teaching experience is highly regarded; however we value attitude, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn just as much as experience.

Essential Qualifications

• Current Swim Teaching Qualification
• Current CPR Certificate
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration
• National Police Check
