We are working with a well-known engineering services business specialising in the design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing facilities. With a strong global footprint and a sustained period of growth, they are now seeking a Lead / Senior Mechanical Engineer to join theirteam.

The Opportunity

\n

We are on the lookout for an experienced Lead / Principal / Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary Engineering Team delivering outstanding results across projects in the mining and minerals industry.

\n

Based out of Perth, you will work across a range of projects throughout Australia and across a variety of commodities, including gold, copper and iron ore, with occasional site visits depending on project requirements.

\n

Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Leading a project team to achieve design budgets and schedules, including technical direction and coordination
\n
• Assisting lead designers in the development of layouts and conceptual designs
\n
• Completing detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations
\n
• Technical review of mechanical drawings and vendor documentation
\n
• Preparing and/or reviewing data sheets, scopes and tender evaluations for equipment procurement
\n
• Ensuring design compliance with statutory regulations and company standards
\n
• Ensuring designs are fit for purpose, considering cost, constructability, operability and maintainability
\n
• Working with commissioning teams on site
\n

About You

\n

\n
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
\n
• Minimum 10 years' technical and practical experience in the design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing plants, with a detailed understanding of multi discipline design delivery
\n
• Sound knowledge and practical application of design theories, principles and practices, including sizing conveyors, pumps and other equipment typical of mineral processing
\n
• Able to contribute to conceptual layouts and designs through to detailed designs and drawings
\n
• Current knowledge of engineering design standards and practice
\n
• Experience across both wet and dry plant
\n
• A hands on leader, comfortable leading a multiskilled project team
\n
• Full and unrestricted Australian working rights
