Mainframe Developer \n

We are seeking a skilled developer with strong mainframe experience to join a large-scale federal government technology program. You'll work across the full software development lifecycle, contributing to the development, enhancement, support and maintenance of complex enterprise applications.

Eligibility \n

• Australian Citizenship required
\n
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance
\n

Key Responsibilities \n

\n
• Analyse, design, develop, test and maintain software solutions
\n
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
\n
• Develop technical designs and implementation approaches for complex systems
\n
• Provide production support, maintenance and go-live assistance
\n
• Ensure adherence to software development methodologies and standards
\n
• Prepare technical documentation, progress reports and implementation artefacts
\n
• Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders
\n
• Contribute to release, deployment and configuration activities
\n
• Identify risks, issues and opportunities for continuous improvement
\n

Skills & Experience Essential \n

\n
• Strong experience working within a Mainframe environment
\n
• Experience with COBOL, Adabas Natural, or similar mainframe technologies
\n
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
\n
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle
\n
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation
\n
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
\n
• Experience supporting release and deployment activities
\n

Desirable \n

\n
• Experience with M204 / Model 204
\n
• Exposure to Java, C#, or other object-oriented development languages
\n
• Application support and maintenance experience
\n
• Experience in large-scale government or enterprise environments
\n
