About Simpson Health Centre
\n
Simpson Barracks is located at Yallambie (approx. 40 mins North-East of Melbourne CBD). Predominately a Forces Command training base supporting Defence Force School of Signals (tri-service technicians & operators, electronic warfare systems), Defence Force School of Music (tri-service musicians) and Army Education Centre. The Army base services approximately 6000 Defence members and operates a 9 bed low dependency ward 24/7. The health centre also provides primary medical, nursing, physiotherapy, dental and mental health services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

What You'll Do

- Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members \n
- Conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care. \n
- Undertaking assessments, interventions, formulating treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions \n
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount \n

What You Bring
\n
- \n
- Unrestricted AHPRA general registration as a Psychologist \n
- Minimum two years' Post Graduate experience within last five years in mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting \n
- Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in "Focussed Psychological Strategies" and "Psychological Therapy" as per Medicare Schedule \n
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009) \n
- Australian Citizenship required for Baseline Security Clearance \n
- Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care \n
