The Knox School is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Performing Arts Teacher to join our dynamic learning community in 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator with demonstrated expertise in Drama and Theatre Studies, who is eager to inspire students and contribute to a vibrant Performing Arts program.

\n

Candidates with the appropriate experience and leadership capability may also be considered for a Learning Design Leader position, with responsibility for advancing curriculum excellence, supporting colleagues and contributing to the strategic growth of Performing Arts across the School.

• Teach Drama across Years 7 - 10 and VCE Theatre Studies Units 1 - 4.
\n
• Support theatre productions, performances and co-curricular performing arts opportunities.
\n
• Foster creativity, confidence and self-expression within our School Community.
\n
• Nurture students’ artistic development while encouraging collaboration and critical thinking.
\n
• Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Performing Arts curriculum.
\n

The ideal candidate:

\n
• Holds a current VIT registration and Current Police Check.
\n
• Has demonstrated success teaching Drama and VCE Theatre Studies.
\n
• Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
\n
• Has a thorough understanding of contemporary wellbeing and student management practices.
\n
• Engages effectively with parents, staff, and students to build relationships across the broader community.
\n
• Must support the School's vision and ethos and demonstrate the School Values of Achievement, Responsibility, Respect, Resilience and Care and Empathy.
\n
• Has knowledge and understanding of the School’s obligations in respect of Ministerial Order No. 1359, the Reportable Conduct Scheme, mandatory reporting, record keeping in relation to student safety and wellbeing, the failure to disclose and failure to protect offences (and any other information sharing and reporting obligations that may arise). Training will be provided.

• Has working knowledge of and is able to adhere to the School’s policies and student safety practices, including those detailed in the Student Safety at The Knox School Handbook which can be accessedhere .
\n
• Satisfactorily completes a values-based interview which will assess suitability to work with children and young people and ensure that children and young people’s rights are respected.
\n
• Displays a supportive and respectful attitude to students and their families and builds positive connections with all members of the school community.
\n
• Holds, or is prepared to obtain, a current Level 2 First Aid Qualification, including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training. The school provides training annually.
