Join the newly established Forensic Mental Health Inpatient Service at Budyari Gamada, Blacktown Hospital, opening on 13 October 2026. This new 20-bed Low Secure Forensic Mental Health Inpatient Unit is part of Mental Health Services within Western Sydney Local Health District and provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to a service being built for the future.

Working alongside existing services at Budyari Gamada and in partnership with the Forensic Mental Health Network, you’ll become part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team committed to safe, therapeutic and evidence-based care.

What you'll be doing
As an Administration Officer Level 3 / Clinical Support Officer, you’ll provide timely, accurate and responsive administrative support to the clinical team and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the ward. Working under the direction of the Nurse/Unit Manager, you’ll play an important role in keeping workforce, patient, equipment and administrative processes running efficiently.

Support the Nurse/Unit Manager with rostering, recruitment, leave, payroll and staff credentialing activities.

Provide accurate data entry and administrative support relating to patient care and clinical activities.

Assist with finance, quality, accreditation, incident management and reporting requirements.

Coordinate administrative activities relating to equipment, medical supplies and purchasing, helping ensure the ward is well equipped to meet service needs.

Provide administrative support for multidisciplinary meetings, including scheduling, documentation and follow-up of actions.

Holds or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration

Excellent communication skills including accurate spelling, good comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.

Demonstrated experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database software

Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines

Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high-pressure, high-volume work environment

Experience with computerised rostering systems (HealthRoster).
