Care Service Employee/ Cook position

What you'll be doing in this role

\n

This is a hybrid cook and care worker position. In this role you will work shifts both in the kitchen and as a care worker supporting our residents. This is a great opportunity for someone that enjoys variation and is excited to learn multiple roles.

\n

As a Cook, you will:

\n

\n
• Prepare and cook daily meals that meet individual dietary requirements, including texture-modified options.
\n
• Plan and rotate menus in consultation with the Service Manager and residents.
\n
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in line with regulatory requirements.
\n
• Manage food purchasing, storage, and usage within budget guidelines.
\n

\n

As a Care Service Employee, you will:

\n

\n
• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
\n
• Provide daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
\n
• Assist with medication and simple wound dressings
\n
• Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities.
\n

\n

Who we're looking for

\n

\n
• A Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification is required.
\n
• You'll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you're studying or have recently become qualified.
\n
• You'll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting's everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
\n
• Must hold a valid and current Australian drivers licence and have your own vehicle.
\n
• Ideally, you'll have some prior experience working in a kitchen as a kitchen hand or similar position.
\n
