Escape Hunt Gold Coast is a themed escape room venue in Southport, offering immersive group experiences for corporates, birthdays, hens & bucks parties, and social groups. We're looking to grow our group bookings business and want someone with the local network and sales drive to help us do it.

Role Description

\n

This is a flexible, part-time role ideal for someone who already has a network in corporate events, wedding/hens & bucks planning, or local Gold Coast hospitality — you'll earn a base plus commission for the bookings you bring in, with the flexibility to build your own schedule around client meetings and site visits.

\n

The Group Bookings & Business Development role is responsible for driving new corporate, party, and group bookings for the venue. Day-to-day activities include reaching out to local businesses, HR/office managers, and wedding/events planners; building referral partnerships; responding to inbound inquiries and converting them into confirmed bookings; and representing Escape Hunt Gold Coast at local networking events. You'll work closely with the venue team to ensure bookings run smoothly, but the core focus of this role is growing the pipeline of group bookings — not day-to-day venue operations.

Qualifications

• An existing network of local contacts in corporate events, HR/office management, wedding/hens & bucks planning, or hospitality is essential
\n
• Strong sales and relationship-building skills — comfortable with outbound outreach, cold calls, and in-person meetings
\n
• Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and manage your own pipeline
\n
• Excellent communication skills for engaging clients and negotiating group packages
\n
• Flexibility to attend local networking events, site visits, and occasional evening/weekend meetings
\n
• Previous experience in group sales, event sales, or venue business development highly regarded
\n

Compensation

\n

This role starts with a 2-week paid trial at $300 flat, regardless of outcome, so there's no risk starting out:

\n

\n
• If you land 3+ confirmed and paid group bookings within the trial, the trial payment increases to $500
\n
• Commission applies on top for every booking you bring in — 10% on bookings of 10–15 people, 15% on bookings of 16–25 people, 20% on bookings of 26+ people
\n

\n

Strong performance in the trial moves you to an ongoing monthly retainer of $300–500 (covering up to ~18 hours of client meetings/activity a month), plus the same commission structure on top. Plus a $200 bonus for every corporate client who becomes a repeat customer (3+ confirmed bookings).

Pay: $3,600.00 – $98,161.41 per year
