An exciting opportunity has become available for an Accountant to join a growing and established business based in Melbourne inner suburbs.

\n

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant looking to step up to an Accountant role, and take ownership of core financial accounting activities and gain broader exposure across reporting, month-end, controls and process improvement.

About the role: \n

\n
• Managing month-end and year-end close activities
\n
• Preparing and reviewing journals, accruals, prepayments and adjustments
\n
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
\n
• Preparing financial statements, supporting schedules and management reporting
\n
• Analysing P&L and balance sheet movements and providing variance commentary
\n
• Supporting internal and external reporting requirements
\n
• Working with auditors and providing supporting documentation
\n
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and efficiencies
\n
• Working closely with FP&A, Operations, Supply Chain, Tax and Technology teams
\n
• Supporting system enhancements, automation and process documentation
\n

About you \n

We're looking for someone with:

\n

\n
• 2+ years of progressive financial accounting or audit experience
\n
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
\n
• Hands-on experience supporting month-end close
\n
• Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
\n
• Ability to work independently and resolve accounting issues
\n
• Experience with ERP systems and strong Excel skills
\n
• CA, CPA or equivalent qualification in progress
\n
• Exposure to inventory, revenue recognition or cost accounting is highly regarded
\n
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
\n
