Senior Health & Safety Advisor (Contract)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a well-established transport and logistics business on an initial contract basis.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the business while the organisation through a transition phase.
This is a hands-on role suited to a confident and autonomous safety professional who can quickly build credibility with operational stakeholders and drive safety initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support incident investigations and corrective actions
- Develop and review risk assessments, SWMS and operational procedures
- Conduct site inspections, audits and safety observations
- Drive audit action implementation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings and leadership engagement activities
- Support emergency response planning and drills
- Provide practical safety advice and coaching to operational teams
- Ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation and company standards
About You
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role
- Strong background within transport, logistics, freight or fleet operations
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated experience conducting incident investigations and managing corrective actions
- Sound knowledge of risk management, auditing and compliance frameworks
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Relevant WHS qualifications
