Senior Payroll Analyst Brisbane QLD, Australia Apply Back to Results Newly created role – Payroll SMESystems improvement & payroll delivery Kenmore Head Office | Hybrid working + 5 weeks leave.Senior Payroll AnalystNewly created role – Payroll SMESystems improvement & payroll deliveryKenmore Head Office | Hybrid working + 5 weeks leave.This is an opportunity to help shape the future of payroll.We are excited to create a new Senior Payroll Analyst role that will partner with our recently appointed Payroll Manager and play a key role in uplifting payroll capability across the organisation.You will be supporting a workforce of more than 4,000 employees, acting as a trusted payroll subject matter expert, helping improve payroll accuracy, strengthening governance, optimising systems, reducing manual workarounds, and building greater confidence in payroll across the business.This is a role where you will have influence, visibility, and the opportunity to shape both the role and the function.About the Role:Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be the technical and analytical backbone of the payroll team.You will have the scope to work across Payroll, People & Culture, Finance, Industrial Relations, Legal and Technology to identify opportunities, solve complex payroll challenges and ensure payroll continues to evolve as a trusted business function.In this new role you will:Review payroll outcomes and identifying issues before payroll is finalised.Be our payroll systems SME, supporting optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.Test payroll changes, system enhancements, and configuration updates.Provide guidance on payroll legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.Analyse payroll data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.Support payroll governance, compliance activities, and audit readiness.Improve reporting, visibility and insights for Finance and business leaders.Reduce reliance on manual processes through better utilisation of payroll systems.What success looks like:Consistently accurate, on-time payroll.Improved payroll governance and controls.Reduced payroll risk and manual intervention.Better utilisation of payroll systems and automation opportunities.Stronger reporting and workforce insights.Greater stakeholder confidence in payroll outcomes.About You:You are an experienced payroll professional who knows how to get payroll right, but more importantly, understands how to make payroll better.You enjoy identifying issues before they become problems, improving systems and processes, and working with stakeholders to deliver long-term solutions rather than short-term fixes and bring to the team:Considerable end-to-end payroll experience, ideally within a complex workforce environment.Experience working with awards, enterprise agreements, and payroll legislation.Proven payroll systems capability and systems thinking.Experience testing payroll outcomes and validating pay runs.A passion for analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.Exposure to payroll governance, compliance, or audit activities.Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across functions.A genuine continuous improvement mindset.Highly regarded:UKG Dimensions experience.Aurion experience.Healthcare, aged care, community services, or multi-award environments.Payroll remediation or payroll transformation experience.Excel, reporting or workforce analytics capability.Who we are – Churches of ChristChurches of Christ is one of Australia’s largest and most diverse not-for-profit organisations, delivering a range of care and community services across Residential Aged Care, Home Care and Retirement Living, Foster and Kinship Care and, Housing Support for over 140 years.
