Job Description

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse Educator, Clinical Care Manager or Clinical Governance professional looking to use your expertise beyond direct care? Join Vertaview Group in this full-time permanent Brisbane CBD opportunity, where you'll influence clinical practice across disability, aged care, and community services, helping deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred support for people with complex health needs.

Working within our Practice Excellence team, you'll drive clinical safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives at scale across the organisation. This is your chance to translate your clinical health skills in a clinical governance policy role that contributes to improving health care outcomes for the people we support.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop, review and maintain health-related procedures, work instructions, and resources across disability and aged care services to continue the implementation and ongoing development of our Health and Wellbeing Framework.
• Provide expert advice and guidance regarding workforce scope of practice for our clinical and non-clinical support teams and to support positive health outcomes for the people we support underpinned by our Clinical Governance Framework.
• Promote health equity and quality of life outcomes through a strong health advocacy and human rights approach.
• Delivering clinical health education and training that contributes to building workforce capability and confidence in supporting customer healthcare needs for both operational management and frontline clinical and non-clinical support teams.
• Conduct clinical data analysis and Clinical Quality Evaluations to identify patterns, evaluate outcomes, and support evidence-based decisions that drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary clinical and operational (non-clinical) stakeholders to build respectful relationships, strengthen practice standards, and drive positive outcomes for the people we support.

What Success Looks Like

Six months from now, you'll have:

• Built trusted relationships across operational and clinical teams.
• Strengthened clinical health governance practices and procedures.
• Lead systematic Clinical Quality Evaluations that identify current and emerging risk in practice providing practice improvement recommendations and demonstrate initiative to reduce potentially avoidable harms through leading subsequence continuous improvement initiatives in response.
• Provided specialist health and aged care advice and direction to advocate the contributions of the Practice Excellence Framework provides in developing the Group's strategic objectives representing the Practice Excellence strategy internally and externally.
• Contributed to improved customer health outcomes.
• Supported reductions in incidents relating to customer support needs.
• Enhanced workforce capability through education, guidance and practical support.
• Established yourself as a trusted clinical expert across the organisation.

About the Candidate

You're a clinically experienced Registered Nurse who enjoys combining critical thinking, problem-solving and relationship building to make a meaningful difference.

You can confidently translate complex clinical concepts into practical guidance for non-clinical teams and have a genuine passion for improving quality, safety and customer outcomes.

You'll Bring

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience (5 years+) of current legislation, policy, and practice standards spanning health, disability, aged care or related human services area.
• Experience in the delivery of clinical health care within disability and/or aged care community settings with demonstrated experience in providing clinical education and training to clinical and non-clinical support teams.
• Project and time management skills with experience working across relevant practice disciplines and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to deliver effective outcomes meeting deliverable targets against a workplan and KPI's.
• Highly developed organisational and systems governance critical thinking skills and the capacity and resilience to manage competing demands and deadlines in response to the needs of the organisation.
• Takes initiative and demonstrated commitment to customer and worker safeguarding, risk mitigation, and continuous practice and quality improvement at scale across an organisation.
• Highly developed stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, foster respectful collegial relationships, and achieve positive outcomes through consultation and partnership
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management and quality improvement frameworks and principles.
• Strong report writing, auditing and analytical capability and experience with electronic health records and/or relevant risk and incident management systems (e.g., RiskMan) and auditing programs.

Highly Regarded

• Clinical education experience driving improved workforce capability.
• Experience supporting customers with complex health needs within the disability and/or aged care community setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disability (UNCRPD), Human Rights and integration of the Social Model of Disability throughout previous clinical health practice.
• Experience participating in clinical governance, audit, organisational registration or Practice Standard accreditation activities.
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or relevant allied health professional.
• Postgraduate qualifications and/or experience in a Clinical Educator role is desirable.
• Current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or be willing to obtain)
• NDIS Orientation Module - Quality, Safety and You (or be willing to obtain)
