About The Role

\n

As a Chaplain, Family & Domestic Violence, this is your opportunity to support others by applying specialist expertise in identifying and responding to their spiritual, religious, and pastoral needs.

\n

Reporting to the Chaplaincy Team Leader, this is a permanent, full-time role, located in North Coburg, VIC.

\n

How You Will Make An Impact

\n

\n
• Provides specialist spiritual, religious, and pastoral care to clients and staff, addressing diverse needs.
\n
• Delivers compassionate, person-centred support to women and children impacted by family violence.
\n
• Provides trauma-informed spiritual, pastoral, and emotional support to women and children residing in refuge and crisis accommodation settings, while also supporting staff wellbeing, resilience, reflection, and responses to the impacts of vicarious trauma and complex family violence work.
\n
• Facilitates religious services, ceremonies, and connections with faith communities as required.
\n
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to support holistic wellbeing and service delivery.
\n
• Offers guidance to staff and leadership on faith, ethics, grief, relationships, and morale.
\n
• Ensures safe, compliant practice within family violence legislation and organisational frameworks.
\n
• This role is identified as requiring a committed Christian,in accordance withSection 351(2)(c) of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth),as it is necessary for the role to conform to the doctrines, beliefs, and principles of The Salvation Army
\n
• Due to the nature of this women-only service, this position is open to female applicants only. This is consistent with the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 section 30

What You Will Bring

\n

\n
• A Diploma of Chaplaincy or willingness to complete and/ or training in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or Relevant Theological studies
\n
• Knowledge of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) (desirable)
\n
• Positive Lifestyle Program training or willingness to complete
\n
• Current or previous Chaplaincy experience or relevant experience in a similar position
\n
• Regular attendance at a Christian place of worship
\n
• A current VIC drivers' licence and employee Working with Children Check
\n
• A current Victoria Working with children's check (employee)
\n

This Position Will Also Require

\n

\n
• Meeting the yearly credentialing requirements of the Territorial Chaplaincy Development & Governance (TCDG)
\n
• Mandatory participation in regular professional pastoral supervision, area leadership teams, peer support group and monthly spiritual retreat day
\n

\n
