Who you are\n

You’ll join our HR squad as a Software Engineer, playing an important role in maintaining and evolving our HR product. You’ll work across the full stack, maintaining core functionality in our React and PHP codebase, while also helping to design and build new implementations and features in NodeJS or .NET. You’ll work closely with senior engineers on building best practices across the team to ensure we continue to deliver a reliable, high-quality product.

This role has a direct business and customer impact, ensuring every customer has a seamless experience across our HR product. You are someone who is passionate about building quality software, enjoys discovery work and thrives on collaborative working, across multiple business groups. You will have the opportunity to work with internal stakeholders across the product, security and DevOps teams, as well as liaising with other engineering teams.

What you will do\n

\n
• Full Stack Development: Write high-quality, maintainable and readable code across our HR product, maintaining core functionality in React and PHP, and building new features in NodeJS or .NET. Contribute to the team’s incremental feature delivery in an agile environment.
\n
• System Design: Build designs and architectural approaches for new implementations and features within the HR product.
\n
• Pair and teach: Program side by side with team members on tough problems, and clarify understanding with insightful code reviews.
\n
• Tackle Tech Debt: Dedicate time to uplift legacy areas of the codebase, keep on top of configuration and stop dependencies from going stale.
\n
• Code Quality Enhancement: Elevate our codebase’s quality by crafting Unit, Module, and Functional automated tests.
\n
• Documentation and Workshops: Support junior developers on best practices when creating documentation.
\n
• Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Product Managers to understand requirements and execute a strategy that aligns with the product roadmap.
\n

What you’ll need\n

\n
• 4+ years of commercial software engineering experience
\n
• Knowledge and previous experience in PHP
\n
• Knowledge and experience in either NodeJS or .NET
\n
• Experience building full stack web applications, including front-end development in React
\n
• Managing production issues and troubleshooting in a distributed computing environment
\n
• Experience in managing complex releases to multiple environments in the cloud
\n
• AI Fluency, genuine comfort using AI tooling as part of how you work: generating code, stress-testing designs, accelerating research, writing documentation. Engineers who treat it as a core part of their workflow will thrive.
\n
• Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly within a diverse, cross-functional team.
\n

• Domain knowledge of HR, Workforce Management, scheduling or payroll will be helpful but not required.
