Join our team as a Steward at The Star Brisbane.

The Star Brisbane is Australia's newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen's Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Star Brisbane offers a variety of new dining, bars, and unique entertainment options. It also includes a five-star luxury hotel, The Star Grand, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre.

This transformational project has brought even more excitement and anticipation to burgeoning Brisbane. It will redefine how people play, shop, and socialise in the river city.

The Steward, reporting to the Stewarding Supervisor will become an important part of our pre-opening team. This role offers the opportunity to be a part of a team that will ensure seamless operation of our Food & Beverage outlets both front and back of house.

\n

A few of your responsibilities

\n

\n
• Manage the use and storage of chemicals at all times
\n
• Manage waste materials ensuring recycling is adhered to
\n
• Maintain and operate operational equipment including dishwasher, utensils and glassware
\n
• Assisting in set up and preparation for events and banquets
\n

\n

What we are looking for

\n

\n
• Can- do team attitude whilst upholding the star values
\n
• Sound knowledge of or ability to learn food safety regulations
\n
• Flexible availability to work on a rotating roster that can include early mornings and overnight shifts.
\n
• Self-motivation and flexibility to work individually and as a team as required
\n
• Ability to focus and prioritise several tasks.
\n

About you

\n

Experience in kitchen environments is desirable although not essential, we are looking for motivated candidates who can work within a team environment. In this role you will learn and develop an understanding of OH&S standards and take pride in supporting the team to ensure all areas are kept clean and tidy. The role of the Steward is integral to the team and their success in providing an exceptional guest experience.
