We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established ASX-listed engineering and mining services organisation seeking a technically strong Senior Accountant to support its finance function through a busy reporting period.

\n

This is a hands-on opportunity suited to someone who enjoys getting into the detail across month-end, statutory reporting, reconciliations, audit support and multi-entity accounting.

About the Role:

\n

Reporting into the Financial Reporting Manager, this position will play a key role in supporting the organisation's financial reporting function across a complex multi-entity environment.

\n

You will be responsible for delivering accurate month-end reporting, maintaining balance sheet integrity, assisting with statutory reporting and audit requirements, and providing broader technical accounting support across the finance team.

\n

This is a genuinely hands-on Senior Accountant role rather than a people-management position.

\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Prepare monthly financial and management reporting.
\n
• Support month-end and year-end close.
\n
• Prepare journals, accruals and provisions.
\n
• Complete balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
\n
• Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
\n
• Support multi-entity reporting and consolidations.
\n
• Assist with statutory reporting requirements.
\n
• Prepare audit workpapers and support external audit.
\n
• Maintain fixed asset and CAPEX accounting.
\n
• Support WIP and project accounting.
\n
• Assist with BAS and compliance requirements where needed.
\n
• Investigate accounting variances and reporting issues.
\n
• Support continuous improvement across financial reporting processes and controls.
\n

We are seeking a technically strong accountant with:

\n

\n
• Strong Senior Accountant or Financial Accountant experience.
\n
• CA, CPA or CIMA qualification preferred.
\n
• Excellent month-end and year-end capability.
\n
• Experience across statutory reporting, consolidations and audit.
\n
• Strong balance sheet and GL reconciliation experience.
\n
• Exposure to multi-entity environments.
\n
• Strong understanding of accounting standards.
\n
• Advanced Excel and strong ERP systems capability.
\n
• JD Edwards experience highly regarded.
\n
• Previous mining, engineering, construction, resources or project-based experience highly regarded.
\n
• The ability to operate independently while working collaboratively within a wider finance team.
