The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity is available for a senior market leader to drive growth and impact across Mott MacDonald’s Ports & Coastal portfolio in Australia and New Zealand. This is a highly critical role focused on market strategy, client engagement, and winning work, while also acting as Project Director on key assignments.

Worldwide, ports are upgrading their infrastructure and adjusting their operations to take advantage of new technologies, meet the needs of larger vessels, decarbonise, and adapt to the impacts of climate change.

We need a connected-thinking approach to deliver sustainable outcomes for communities and clients across engineering projects developing ports and coastal infrastructure.

What you’ll be responsible for:

Opening opportunities through connected thinking, including:

• Winning work: Lead major pursuits and proposals, making informed bid decisions and guiding commercial strategy to deliver strong ROI.
• Strategic direction: Partner with the APAC Market Lead to update, champion and deliver the ANZ market strategy aligned to the business plan, with measurable actions.
• Client & market growth: Build impactful, multi-level relationships across government and industry and strengthen market positioning across the full spectrum of services.
• Leadership & collaboration: Coordinate market leadership nationally, support State Market/Client/Practice leaders, and foster collaboration across projects, locations and global networks.
• Strategic resourcing: Identify future capability needs, recruit high-calibre talent, and develop client engagement and work-winning skills across the team.
• Project delivery leadership: Act as Project Director on key projects, ensuring quality professional services that enhance reputation, performance, and profitability.
• Quality, safety & risk: Maintain high professional standards and innovations, embed constructability and safety into design and delivery, and ensure team compliance with safety and risk requirements.

• Commercial agility and strong risk awareness, with the ability to prioritise market investment effectively.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional chartership (as applicable to your discipline).
