Summary
Our client Honest Building Construction Pty Ltd, trading as HBC Homes, is seeking to add a Plasterer to its specialised construction team in Unley, South Australia. HBC Homes prioritises quality over quantity and works closely with clients throughout their building journey. The position will support residential construction projects through accurate plasterboard installation, wall and ceiling lining, finishing and repair works.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Measure, mark, and cut plasterboard to precise specifications for wall and ceiling installations.
• Install insulation and vapour barriers as per project requirements.
• Secure plasterboard panels to walls, ceilings, and battens using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Prepare and secure corner beads, ensuring seamless and durable finishes.
• Fix pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, and other decorative plaster fittings.
• Cover joints and nail holes with plaster or sealing compounds for a smooth surface.
• Level and smooth plaster coats to achieve uniform thickness and quality.
• Apply and finish acoustic, insulating, and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster.
• Create decorative textures and finishes in plaster coats as per design specifications.
• Plumb and straighten corners, angles, and wall surfaces for accurate alignment.
• Repair and restore damaged plaster surfaces to their original condition.
• Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople and team members to meet project timelines.
• Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
• Minimum AQF Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining or an equivalent relevant qualification is required.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in plastering, wall and ceiling lining or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated practical experience in residential and/or commercial plastering and wall and ceiling lining works is required.
• Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and installing plasterboard panels accurately across wall and ceiling lining projects.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations relevant to plastering work and construction site requirements is essential.
• Experience in installing acoustic, insulating, and fireproofing materials as part of plastering and wall lining works.
• Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to achieve seamless, accurate and consistently high-quality plaster finishes.
• Capability to work independently and supervise a small team of plasterers while meeting required project timelines.
