About the role:

The Workforce Capability team plays a critical role in workforce planning and policy and developing the necessary workforce capability to meet industry workforce needs, and increase productivity and, participation, contributing to the State’s economic growth.

Senior Project Officer, Jobs and Skills Hub supports the Manager, Spencer Gulf Workforce to drive and deliver workforce outcomes for the region. The role leads the operation of the Spencer Gulf Jobs and Skills Hub, including delivery of programs and services through the Hub.

Senior Project Officer, Jobs and Skills Hub also plays a broader role in coordinating workforce and skills development activities across the region. The role will be based in the Whyalla region, and you will be a core part of the Department's presence in the Upper Spencer Gulf.

As Senior Project Officer, Jobs and Skills Hub you will:

1. Maintain the daily operation of the Jobs and Skills Hub, including implementation and coordination of programs and services to be delivered through the Hub, in partnership with industry, employers, service providers and other stakeholders.
2. Coordinate and support the development of strategic networks and collaboration initiatives with Local Government, schools, universities, enterprises, training providers, communities and State and Federal Government Departments within the region.
3. Support the Manager Spencer Gulf Workforce to engage with industry, employers, service providers, and regional stakeholders to identify, develop and co-design workforce solutions with employers in the Upper Spencer Gulf.
4. Support the delivery and coordination of activities and commitments outlined in the Upper Spencer Gulf Workforce Strategy 2025-2030, including cross-agency coordination and reporting on progress outcomes.
5. Coordinate, monitor and contribute to steering committees and advisory groups, as required, to deliver workforce outcomes aligned to the needs of local industry, employers and community.

Key Competencies:

To apply and succeed in the role, you will have:

• Knowledge of operational workforce and skills needs and challenges in the Spencer Gulf region and South Australia.
• Possess contract management skills and/or project management experience
• Proven experience undertaking stakeholder engagement and management with a proven ability to work closely with businesses and business associations to increase the capability of businesses.
• Demonstrated experience identifying areas for collaboration at planning stages, developing solutions and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders.

Remuneration:

Competitive salary of ASO6 p.a. plus superannuation

Special Conditions:

• The role will be offered full-time (1.0 FTE) for up to 12 months
• Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment.
