Right now, we are in the middle of something exciting. Our team is growing, and we have a part-time Employment Consultant role right here in Deniliquin. Working three days a week, this isn’t a role we have had sitting empty, this is a position created because we are doing more and we need good people around us to do it well.

About the Role

You don’t wait for opportunities, you create them.

As an Employment Consultant, you will support your caseload of participants to take ownership of their journey to work. You will build relationships, identify opportunities, and actively connect participants with employers.

You will partner with people with a disability to understand their goals, build their confidence and skills, and actively connect them with employers. Success in this role comes from your ability to engage people, stay organised, and keep momentum especially when things get challenging.

You don’t need direct industry experience, but you do need to be curious, proactive, and willing to learn quickly. We’re looking for people who come prepared, take initiative, and back themselves to build strong relationships in the community.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Working one-on-one with participants to set clear employment goals and action plans
• Actively building relationships with local employers to create job opportunities
• Promoting participants’ strengths and matching them to suitable roles
• Supporting participants before and after placement to ensure sustainable employment
• Identifying barriers and coordinating support services or training where needed
• Managing your own caseload, priorities, and follow-ups to keep things moving
• Maintaining accurate records and meeting program compliance requirements
• Representing Sureway in the local community to build awareness and connections

This position requires the successful applicant to undertake a National Police Check and relevant state-based screens. Applicants also must have the right to work in Australia and hold a valid driver’s licence with reliable transport.
